Terms of service

These terms are an agreement between you and Customer Boost AI, LLC dba Joia, a Utah limited liability company (“Joia,” “we,” “us”). By creating an account or using Joia, you agree to them. Our privacy policy explains how we handle information.

1. Who can use Joia

You must be at least 18 years old and live in the United States. You confirm both when you first connect Joia. Joia is for personal use by individuals. Accounts are for one person and may not be shared.

2. Your account

You sign in with Google or with a one-time code sent to your email (Sign in with Apple is coming). You are responsible for activity under your account and for the AI assistants you connect to it. Tell us right away at support@getjoia.com if you think someone else has accessed your account.

3. The beta

Joia is free during the beta. Features may change, and we may set fair-use limits on how much you can use it. We’ll give reasonable notice before introducing paid plans. Nothing you already use will become paid without your agreement.

4. Your content

You own the information you put into Joia. You give us permission to store, process, and display it only as needed to run Joia for you. This permission ends when you delete it, subject to backup timing described in the privacy policy.

5. Information about other people

Joia helps you remember people you meet, so your content will include information about others. You agree to:

• Save only information you obtained lawfully, and use Joia for your own relationships and networking.
• Not use Joia to stalk, harass, threaten, or discriminate against anyone, or to build profiles for sale or for someone else’s use.
• Not save government ID numbers, financial account or card numbers, passwords, or health information about other people.
• Accept that we may remove information about a person who asks us to, as described in the privacy policy.

6. AI assistants and other services

You use Joia through AI assistants made by other companies, such as Meta. Those companies’ terms apply to your use of their assistants, and we aren’t responsible for them. AI assistants can misunderstand requests. Check anything important. Joia labels unconfirmed details, but it can’t guarantee that what an assistant sends it is accurate.

7. Acceptable use

Don’t misuse Joia. That includes breaking the law, getting around usage limits or security measures, accessing other users’ data, reverse engineering the service except where the law allows, or overloading our systems.

8. Ending your use

You can stop using Joia and delete your data at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms or if we need to in order to protect Joia, its users, or others. If we discontinue Joia, we’ll give you at least 30 days’ notice to export your data, unless that isn’t possible.

9. Disclaimers

Joia is provided “as is” and “as available,” especially during the beta. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don’t promise that Joia will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that stored information will never be lost.

10. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, Joia won’t be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits, or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim relating to Joia is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $100.

11. Indemnity

If a claim is brought against us because of information you saved about someone else or because you broke these terms, you agree to cover our reasonable costs of dealing with it, to the extent the law allows.

12. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Salt Lake County, Utah, and you and we consent to their jurisdiction.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change is material, we’ll tell you at least 14 days before it takes effect. If you keep using Joia after that, you accept the new terms.
